Brief History Of Cartier

Adolphe Picard was a mentor to Louis-Franciois Cartier who was a watchmarket that purchased the small Parisian store in 1847 Adolphe Picard owned. His humble beginning transformed into a multinational luxury accessory and leather goods brand with 270 boutiques worldwide. The brand may be known for its jewellery and watches it has seen success in perfumes and recently they are dipping their toes into leather goods - they have their own collection of luxury handbags

Louis-Franciois Cartier lives by the motto “Never imitate, always innovate” - that quote being the driving force behind the brand and every venture they take on.

The iconic love bracelet was meant to be the modern day “cuff”. The bracelet started getting its notary when teenage Kylie Jenner (in her King Kylie era) was spotted stacking them, twitter exploded with tweets stating” the price of college education on one arm”. The love bracelet has been part of the brand for over four decades. In 1969, Italian jewellery designer Aldo Cipullaco crafted the Love bracelet for the french jewellery house in the New York workshop. It was inspired by a mediaeval chastity belt - it represented ‘locked into love”. ‘What modern people want are love symbols that look semi-permanent—or, at least, require a trick to remove. After all, love symbols should suggest an everlasting quality,’ Cipullo said.

It is definitely “cuffing” season, we have two of the beautiful bracelets in stock:
