All About The Chanel 19

In the March 2019 Fall/Winter collection, The Chanel 19 bag was unveiled. The design was the last bag Karl Lagerfeild designed before his passing in February 2019. He designed it with Chanels creative director Virginie Viard. The bag was inspired by the reimaging of a Chanel classic, paying homage to the 2.55, the first shoulder bag by Gabrielle Coco. The name for Chanel 19 comes from the year it debuted in 2019.Did you know the name 2.55 is the date it debuted? February 1955. The Chanel 19 comes in five different sizes and is slouchier than most of Chanel’s classic bags. The bag has a unique mixed metal strap that has a gradient throughout. This can be worn dainty with the carrier strap and the long strap hanging, or over the shoulder with the long strap.

The bag was created to be sturdy and supple. The original version was crafted with smooth goat skin leather and exaggerated diamond quilting.
